Who are Regional Women’s Wellness?

Regional Women’s Wellness exists for women outside Australia’s major cities: regional towns, rural communities and remote areas, where women’s health expertise has always been thinnest on the ground. If you live somewhere the nearest women’s health GP is a long drive away, the specialist waitlist is measured in months, or continuity of care means seeing the same locum twice, we built this for you.

We see women across every stage: from first periods and the hormonal turbulence of the teenage years, through contraception, fertility and preconception, pregnancy and postpartum, and the long, often under-explained and over-dismissed arc of perimenopause and menopause.

If you’re in Sydney, you’re better served by our sister clinic, Sydney Women’s Wellness in Greenwich, where the same team offers the same care face to face or telehealth if that is more convenient.

Why does Regional Women’s Wellness exist?

Regional Women’s Wellness is a women’s health telehealth practice for women who live outside Australia’s major cities. We offer the same considered care, the same longer consultations and the same evidence-based approach as our sister clinic in Sydney, just made available wherever you are.

We exist because your postcode shouldn’t decide the quality of your women’s health care. The reality in much of regional, rural and remote Australia is that getting a GP appointment can take weeks, or even months. And when you get one, it is often with whichever doctor is available that day, not a GP you have built a relationship with over years.

So seeing a female GP with extra training in women’s health, who has 40 minutes to listen to how your newly irregular periods might be connected to your frozen shoulder, itchy ears and why you’re not quite feeling yourself, is next to impossible. Women outside the major cities have been making do with this for too long, and we think that needs to change.

“Your postcode shouldn’t decide the quality of your women’s health care.”

We opened Regional Women’s Wellness because we wanted to offer something different.

01

Longer telehealth consultations with women’s health GPs who have actually trained in this area.

02

Evidence-based assessment that doesn’t change because you live three hours from the nearest specialist.

03

Real continuity of care, the same GP who knows your history and can make the link between your heavy periods, your vegan diet and your constant fatigue.

The same standard of women’s healthcare that exists on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, available from your kitchen table whether you’re in Bourke, Bega or Broome, women have been asked to know very little about their own bodies.

On the limits of telehealth

We need to be honest with you, though. We don’t believe telehealth can provide perfect women’s health care on its own. Some clinical assessments need hands. Some procedures need a room. Some women, in some moments, need to be seen in person, not just spoken to on a screen.

Telehealth has opened up access in ways that matter enormously, particularly for women in regional Australia who would otherwise have no women’s health care at all. But we don’t want to pretend a screen can replace a room. We would rather acknowledge what telehealth does brilliantly, careful history-taking, education, treatment planning, prescribing and ongoing follow-up, and plan properly for the moments it isn’t enough.

This is what makes Regional Women’s Wellness different. We are not telehealth-only. We are telehealth with a clear pathway to in-person care when you need it. For pathology and imaging, we refer to local providers so you can have your bloods, scans and tests done close to home. When specialist input is needed, our specialists consult by telehealth and see patients in person in Sydney when required. And when an in-person GP consult is what’s needed, you can be seen at our Sydney sister clinic. Most telehealth services don’t offer that, because most telehealth services don’t have a physical clinic. We do.

In the years ahead, we hope to open face-to-face clinics in regional centres, so the in-person option doesn’t always mean a long drive or a flight. Until then, we offer what telehealth can do beautifully, paired with a real pathway to in-person care when you need it.

Whether you are seeing us from a coastal town, an inland centre or a remote community, we offer longer consultations, evidence-based assessment and considered clinical care across periods, contraception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, perimenopause and menopause, so that you can live… well, wherever you are.

On The Word "Wellness"
We Thought Carefully About This

When I was naming this practice, I hesitated over the word "Wellness". In 2026, it is a word that has been quietly hijacked by a multi-billion dollar industry, one that stepped into the gap medicine left when it dismissed women for too long. That gap has been filled with supplements, infrared saunas, hormone detoxes, IV drips and many other offerings that range from harmless but useless to expensive and occasionally dangerous. When women have their questions unanswered and their symptoms dismissed, an industry that promises answers, and a way to feel better, will always find an audience. The trouble is that those answers are not always built on evidence, but rather on profit.

Wellness, at its heart, is the goal of every woman. But Wellness is not the opposite of medicine. It is what medicine, done well, is supposed to deliver.

So we kept the word and we've defined it as our own.

Wellness, at Sydney Women's Wellness, is the art of living well through education, evidence and considered care. It is being heard properly. It is understanding what is happening in your body. It is having a clear, evidence-based plan for what to do next, one that considers your goals, your preferences and the life you are actually living.

wellness /ˈwɛlnəs/ noun

the art of living well with education, evidence and considered care.

This definition shapes everything we do.

  • We don't sell supplements.
  • We don't run infrared saunas.
  • We don't offer hormone resets or detox programs.
  • We offer longer consultations.
  • We focus on educating our patients about what is happening in their bodies.
  • We use evidence-based assessment and genuine clinical expertise across periods, contraception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, perimenopause and menopause, to provide a full picture of women's health, so that you can live… well.
